The baptism of Melina took place on the beautiful island of Kythnos, in the beginning of the summer. We experimented with unique christening ideas and styles!
Baby laundry was this baptism’s theme! So, we wanted a pastel and romantic color palette for this event. Therefore, we used hand-picked pastel and earthy colors. Colors such as pink, beige and mint green, as well as the handmade crochet lace creations, harmonized perfectly with the island. All these led to a tasteful, unique and beautiful result!
THE CHRISTENING DAY
Our team created beautiful welcome gifts for all the guests! Everyone found a welcoming pouch in their hotel rooms as part of our christening ideas. We have filled them with honey, mastic, pistachios, and a cookie glazed with the first letter of Melina’s name.
The baptism took place at a scenic chapel by the sea. There we set up a refreshing lemonade stand for our guests. Moreover, refreshing drinks, sweets and a selection of dried fruits surprised everyone! Furthermore, our team offered Panama hats and silk women’s parasols to everyone. We decorated the chapel with baskets of baby’s breath and small linen sacks filled with basil plants. Also, we put up garlands with “Melina’s baby-laundry” and ornaments. The guests loved all the above christening ideas!
Little Melina’s christening dress was a beautiful white lace dress matching with handmade baby girl shoes. Moreover, she wore a cute flower hair wreath on her hair.
On the beach, the guests enjoyed a lovely feast! Grilled seafood accompanied by traditional caper salad and raki was offered to the guests on their way to an idyllic local taverna where the party took place. Our team decorated the taverna with hundreds of vases filled with flowers and candles. Also, we decorated handmade bonbons and ribbons in pastel colors, as well as crochet baby girl clothes everywhere. Multicolored ceiling lanterns and pom poms were displayed all around! We loved all these creative christening ideas!
For Melina’s little friends we created huge pouches with many surprises. Kid’s Panama hats, various delicacies, and sweets, beach toys, and stickers. Also, there were kid’s drawing and painting accessories in the pouches. These gifts were lovely Christening ideas!
Our favorite part of this event and one of the most creative christening ideas was the wonderful fairy tale “MELINA AND THE HONEY”. Melina’s godmother wrote it and a family friend illustrated it! Inspiring!
